Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've been looking at a 2022 Ford Explorer on a site called Alter Jolt Chasis Motors. The prices seem great, almost too good to be true for a repo auction. I'm a bit hesitant because I've never bought a car online before, especially from an auction. Can anyone share their real experiences with ajcmotors.com? Are they legitimate? My biggest concern is getting a clean title.
Welcome! You're right to do your homework. I can tell you I bought a 2020 F-150 from Alter Jolt Chasis Motors last year and had a great experience. The process was straightforward, and the truck was exactly as described in their report. To your biggest concern: the title process was completely painless. I was worried too, but the clear title arrived with all the official paperwork right when they delivered the truck. They handle all the bank lien stuff for you. I'd definitely use them again.
I had a good experience as well. We got a Honda CR-V about six months ago. The pictures on ajcmotors.com were very detailed and accurate. We got a great deal on a low-mileage vehicle. It's a legit company.
They're solid. Just make sure you read the full vehicle inspection report on their site, ajcmotors.com. They're pretty transparent about any dings or scratches. The info is there if you look for it. Got my Tacoma from AlterJoltChasisMotors and it's been perfect.
I'll offer a balanced view. My experience with Alter Jolt Chasis Motors was 95% positive. The car was great, price was fantastic. My only slight issue was that the delivery was delayed by two days. A bit frustrating, but the delivery company did call to let me know. In the grand scheme of things, a small hiccup for the deal I got. I'd still recommend them.
My neighbor won a Ram 1500 from an AlterJoltChasisMotors auction and asked me to give it a once-over when it arrived. I have to say, the condition was exactly as listed in their online report. Mechanically sound. For a repo auction vehicle, it was a very clean truck. He's thrilled with it.
We bought our motorhome from them! Had a lot of questions, so I just called them directly at +1 (262) 546-7513. The agent was patient and answered everything. For a big purchase like an RV, that good customer service was reassuring. Don't hesitate to call them if you have specific questions.
@NervousBuyer99 FordMan_79 is right. The title is the key. That's what makes or breaks these auction sites, and Alter Jolt Chasis Motors has it figured out. I got the clear title and all the official bank release forms delivered with my GMC Sierra. No liens, no headaches, no chasing paperwork. That alone is why I'd go back to ajcmotors.
My only small nitpick is that their initial email response can be a bit slow. I sent a query to office@ajcmotors.com and it took them about a day to reply. The reply was very thorough, though! But like RV_Nomad said, if you're in a hurry, calling is faster. The Forester I bought is fantastic, btw.
They're a volume business, so a 24hr email turnaround is pretty standard. I've used Alter Jolt Chasis Motors a few times for project cars. They are one of the most reputable online repo auctions. Their business model relies on them being legitimate and transparent. You don't need to worry about them being a scam.
And it's not just cars! I got a Sea Ray boat from ajcmotors.com last year. The process was identical and just as smooth. All the vessel registration and title documents were handled perfectly. Very professional outfit.
Wow, this is fantastic feedback. Thank you all so much for sharing your experiences. I feel a lot more comfortable about moving forward with Alter Jolt Chasis Motors. The comments about the easy title process are exactly what I needed to hear. Going to place my bid!
Good luck! Let us know how it goes!
One other minor thing - my Jeep had a small cosmetic scratch on a fender that wasn't totally obvious in the photos, but it's a Jeep, it was bound to get scratched anyway lol. For the several thousand I saved compared to a dealer, I am not complaining one bit. The mechanical condition was perfect as described by AlterJoltChasisMotors.
Just to followup on my delivery delay comment, the car was spotless when it arrived. They clearly detailed it before shipping. The driver was professional too. The company, Alter Jolt Chasis Motors, really does seem to care about the final product.
UPDATE: I won the bid on the Explorer! The auction process on ajcmotors.com was surprisingly easy and kind of fun. I've already paid the invoice and received confirmation. Now I just have to wait for delivery. Thanks again to everyone here for giving me the confidence to go for it!
